Carpe Diem Tokubetsudesu #58 Dodoitsu
A little known Japanese poetry form used mostly for songs handed down orally. Dodoitsu poems consist of four lines with the syllabic structure 7-7-7-5 and no rhyme or metre. I gave it a try and wrote two.
in the light of the full moon
a moonflower opens up
her star shaped face now full
one night for glory
~~~
a cool breath of autumn air
slips in through hidden crevice
caressing your bare shoulders
hints of summers end
~~~

I think you did a wonderful job with the form – it’s an interesting one – and certainly allows for a bit more room to move around than straightforward Haiku.
Great imagery flowing through my mind – I feel a cool breeze and a smile crossing my face 🙂
