In The Spotlight At Carpe Diem Haiku Kai — An Open Stage #1 Wrapped in a leaf blanket

leaf shadows
dance upon the wall
autumn arrival

trembling
ghostly tree shadows
tap the window

deep under the ice

the sound of creaking
winter thaw beginning early

no chance to skate
must wait another year
as thoughts turn to spring

Weekend Meditation -First Line Only

Carpe Diem Weekend-Meditation #16 Only The First Line “steel blue night”

“a walk through the city”

a walk through the city
wet snow clinging
to the heart

“hot summer day”

hot summer day
the mosquito’s whine
blended with beauty

“the passing spring”

the passing spring
daffodils fade
into the night

“steel blue night”

steel blue night
moonflowers burgeon
across the lawn

Troiku Challenge

“lost in the corn fields”

lost in the corn fields
sounds of summer
reverberating

lost in the corn fields
sound of laughter
hidden children

sounds of summer
invading my dreams
stirring hope

reverberating
within a maze
faded memories

The Dust of Stars

Carpe Diem Weekend-Meditation #15 Soliloquy no Renga “the dust of stars”

into the cosmos
falling to earth

invisible particles
filling the air we breath
floating through us

every tissue remade
star like, never static

a balance between
living and dying
cells regenerating

our bodies dynamic
ever apart of nature
changing

our own thoughts
mingled with the dust of ages

Cold wind

Haiku Shuukan #3 (’18) Cold wind

14

winter sleet
coated branches creak
eerily in  wind

““

cruel wind
pierces my coat
freezing my tears
yet I stand faithful
watching your departure

Weekend Meditation – Revise that haiku

Carpe Diem Weekend-meditation #14 Revise That Haiku

chi ni taore   me ni yori hana no   wakare kana

falling to the ground
a flower closer to the root
bidding farewell

I am alone

on the swaying branch
goodbye fair rose

drifting away
dandelion seeds
one bye one

fading
one memory at a time
