Adas Poetry Alcove

Poetry and Haiku

May 2017

My head pounds
and the ticking clock
ticks louder and louder.
Deadlines loom
and my head pounds.

Is it a migraine
or just another excuse?

an aura lingers
as peripheral vision darkens.
My head throbs.
My creative juice drained.
The clock ticks louder

Fragment and Phrase

Carpe Diem Universal Jane #17 fragment and phrase

I wrote this poem and then edited trying to use the fragment phrase .  With each edit I was happy until I looked at it the next day.  Not quite happy yet, leaning toward the first now.  Anyway here are my attempts.  ( Here is one of the bluejay inspecting my strawberry patch.)

bluejays squabble
over scarlet berries
not one left unblemished

First Magnolia Bloom

Just thought that I would share the free link to my ebook “First Magnolia Bloom.” It has been out for awhile now, but I never thought about sharing it, other than with my favorite haiku group -Carpe Diem. Hope you take time to check it out. Hope you enjoy.
