Autumn – Summer Kisses Fade

Troiku for   B&P Shadorma and Beyond – The Troiku

Inspiration: Autumn Leaves by Nat King Cole

DSC_0456

in autumns glow
summer kisses fade
in silent whispers

~~~
in autumns glow
your upturned face
haunts my dreams
~~~

summer kisses fade
as autumn leaves fall
loneliness settles in

~~~
in silent whispers
I cry your name
dry leaves rustle
Peony
In response a  Troiku and a Tanka for Carpe Diem Special #163 Lolly’s fifth a peony bush (tanka)
laden with tears
the peony blossom
bows to the ground
laden with tears
the peony begins to blossom
drinking in joy
~~~

the peony blossom
spills it’s fragrance
into the dawn

~~~
bowing to the ground
peony bush abounding with flowers
quivers in moonlight
trembling in the dawn
peony bush spills her beauty
onto the terrace
twilight falls on soft pink petals
waltzing into night
moonlit night
unfolding the mysteries
between us
moonlit night
chorus of tree frogs
blanketing the dark
unfolded mystery
drifting in twilight
passion blossoming
between us
a growing secret
draped in mystery
Weeping Willow – Troiku
Carpe Diem #697 Weeping Willow
elegant willow
your branches creaking
we land in pond
elegant willow
dappled in sunlight
reflecting the pond
your branches creaking
softly in the breeze
from our dangling weight
we land in the pond
splashing with delight
in your lusious shade
Playing the Blues
Carpe Diem Time Machine # 3 Blue
Jazz Troiku (Picture is of my son playing – background is a journal cover I  made)
jazzblue
playing the blues
in all hues and shades
my heart on a string
playing the blues
smoky night clubs
steamy sax riff
in all hues and shades
up and down the scales
blues mingled with life
 my heart on a string
following the melody
blue like jazz
First Sun
Carpe Diem #640 first Sun (Hatshi)
for the party goers
the new year’s first sun
arrives too early
early morning
first sun of the year beckons
through the blind
________________________________________________________________________
Troiku from my second first sun haiku
early morning
first sun of the year beckons
through the blind
early morning
awakened
by winter rain
first sun of the year beckons
giving hope of winters thaw
not far away
through the blind
the winter cold
deceptively warm
Curling Up Alone
curling up alone
in the imprint where you slept
tears no longer flow
scan0084
curling up alone
with a good book
no substitute
in the imprint where you slept
I still feel your warmth
on cold nights
tears no longer flow
memories keep me company
life moves forward
Peace Flowing
peace flowing
in a river of blood
fallen soldiers
peace flowing
old wounds heal
balance restored
in a river of blood
all are washed clean
redemption
fallen soldiers
make peace with their gods
new flowers blossom
Richard Wright’s “I give permission”
I give permission
For this slow spring rain to soak
The violet beds.
© Richard Wrig
I give permission
for mayhem in the garden
weeds left unchecked
For this slow spring rain to soak
the parched ground prays
on a hot june day
The violet bed
yawns with yellow dandelions
awakened from sleep
