Harvest

Carpe Diem #1848 Harvest

changing weather
burnished fields of gold
reflect autumn sky

~~~~~~~
morning dew
goldfinch echo autumn’s joy
exploring garden
~~~~~~~

whirr of locust
intensity matching afternoon heat
sip of cool water

Trying to Restart Again

Carpe Diem #1846 Trying to restart again

wet spring
discarding drown plants
setting new seedlings

replacing flowers
by the cold wet stone
spring hatchlings chirp
tears dried, visits lessen
conversation growing thin

Summertime

Carpe Diem #1845 Troiku Challenge: Summertime

at the seashore
wind of summer through my hair
the shortest night

© Chèvrefeuille ummer through my hair

at the seashore
last embers of sunset
dance on the water

wind of summer through my hair
mixture of lotion and brine
engulf the shore

the shortest night
blazing stars give way
to fiery sunrise

Returning to Normal

Carpe Diem #1844 Returning Back To Normal (I Hope)

cautious journey
meeting newest grandson
ten months late

summertime journey
obscure paths explored
still social distancing

Mist Clouds

Carpe Diem #1843 Troiku Challenge 1: Mist Clouds

roaring down the beach
at the height of winter waves
mist clouds

© Jane Reichhold (1937-2016)

roaring down the beach
tufts of white foam
flapping in the wind

at the height of winter waves
surfers gearing up to catch
wind fetch gracing coast

mist clouds
ramble the rock face
heightening the surge
