Silence

Carpe Diem #1386 Silence …

Two Days of Silence
After days of feasting, fast.
After days of sleeping, stay awake
one night. After these times of bitter
storytelling, joking, and serious
considerations, we should give ourselves
two days between layers of baklava
in the quiet seclusion where soul sweetens
and thrives more than with language.

sparkling in sun light
to brittle stems of Queen Ann’s lace
fragile stars frozen in time draw out ghosts of summer
floral memories awaken as beauty fades gently away leaving tears dripping

harvest moon
bearing down on us
shouting for attention
once in a blue moon we notice
our impact upon nature

awakening primal urges
amber light flows
together in the crisp air
