Psalm 7:3–5

Psalm 7:3–5

3 Lord my God, if I have done this and there is guilt on my hands — 4 if I have repaid my ally with evil or without cause have robbed my foe — 5 then let my enemy pursue and overtake me;let him trample my life to the ground and make me sleep in the dust.

~~~
Oh Lord, if I have betray my friend,
repaid goodness with evil –
then Lord, hold me accountable.
Let my enemy take his revenge on me,
let him trample me into the dust,
snuffing out my life.
Psalm 7:1
Psalm 7:1
Lord my God, I take refuge in you;
save and deliver me from all who pursue
Lord God on high
on you I rely,
in you I find strength,
strength to carry on.
Lord God of all
in you I seek comfort.
In you I take refuge
from the storms
of my life.
Rescue me lord,
save me from
 those who rail
against me.
Deliver me Lord
 from those who
pursue me.
Rescue me Lord
from myself.
Psalm 6:4–5
Psalm 6:4–5
4 Turn, Lord, and deliver me;
save me because of your unfailing love.
5 Among the dead no one proclaims your name.
……………………………………………………….
Who praises you from the grave?
My countenance is grim
there is no praise
from this grave of despair.
Come back to me, Oh Lord
deliver me from my unbelief.
Shed your love on me
 and restore my joy.
Psalm 6:1–3
Psalm 6:1–3
1 Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger
or discipline me in your wrath.
2 Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint;
heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony.
3 My soul is in deep anguish.
How long, Lord, how long?
……………………………………………………
My soul is filled with anguish,
I cannot hear your voice,
I am all alone.
How long must I seek you?
Why did you move away?
Have mercy on me, Lord
my faith is weak.
Do not rebuke me,
with hold your wrath.
I long to hear your voice,
help me move toward you,
walk with me again.
How long will I feel so empty,
so empty my bones ache?
Have mercy on me, Lord
help my unbelief.
Psalm 6 (NIV)
1 Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger
or discipline me in your wrath.
2 Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint;
heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony.
3 My soul is in deep anguish.
How long, Lord, how long?
4 Turn, Lord, and deliver me;
save me because of your unfailing love.
5 Among the dead no one proclaims your name.
Who praises you from the grave?
6 I am worn out from my groaning.
All night long I flood my bed with weeping
and drench my couch with tears.
7 My eyes grow weak with sorrow;
they fail because of all my foes.
8 Away from me, all you who do evil,
for the Lord has heard my weeping.
9 The Lord has heard my cry for mercy;
the Lord accepts my prayer.
10 All my enemies will be overwhelmed with shame and anguish;
they will turn back and suddenly be put to shame.
Psalm 5:11–12
Psalm 5:11–12 11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them,that those who love your name may rejoice in you. 12 Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous;you surround them with your favor as with a shield.
……………………………..
Oh Lord, we come to you with song and thanksgiving. Make glad our hearts spreading your protection over us, oh Lord.
Your rain falls on the just and the unjust oh my Lord! Surely you favor those who are righteous, but what of those who speak out in righteous indignation, stirring up hatred.
What of those who call on your name to strike down the unjust and the innocent. Where, Oh Lord, does your favor lie?
Is it not man who has caused war and rumors of war? What obligation are we under to spread our protection over refugees or to care for the poor? Is it enough to pray for blessings in faith and take no action?
If we truly rejoice in your name, oh Lord of all creation, must we not love all people? Must we not take care of all you created? Help us, oh Lord! Help us forgo our greed and our hatred. Spread your favor like a protective shield. Bless us, oh Lord. with true righteousness. Let our hearts be gladdened, let us sing your joy.
Psalm 5:10
Psalm 5:10
Psalm 5:10
Declare them guilty, O God!
Let their intrigues be their downfall.
Banish them for their many sins,
for they have rebelled against you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Declare them guilty,
those who take innocent blood.
Those who cowardly send
others to blow themselves up.
Who will serve justice
for their horrible crimes.
O God, Declare them guilty.
Let their intrigues be their downfall,
let their enemies overcome them.
Who O Lord benefits from the cries
of infants lost in senseless carnage?
What mother can be comforted?
What child does not fill with hatred
for the loss of parents?
O God strike fear in the hearts
of our attackers, banish them
for the sins against the innocent.
They are not only rebelling
against democracy and liberty,
but against you as well, O Lord.
Hear our cries for revenge,
give us our satisfaction for justice.
No, Lord restore to us our peace,
do not let our hearts be hardened.
O God let us learn forgiveness.

Psalm 5:8

Psalm 5:8

8 Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness
because of my enemies —
make your way straight before me.

……………………………………..

lead me Lord
create in me a clean heart
make me strong

~~~
how do you bask
in your righteousness
while the poor suffer
~~~

I falter
because of my enemies
and my arrogance

Psalm 5:4–6

Psalm 5:4–6

4 For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness;
with you, evil people are not welcome.
5 The arrogant cannot stand
in your presence.
You hate all who do wrong;
6 you destroy those who tell lies.
The bloodthirsty and deceitful
you, Lord, detest.

……………………………………………

We plead, Oh Lord for your just mercy.
You are a God who is not pleased
with wickedness and evil.
You who hate all wrong,
and detest deceitfulness,
forgive us and welcome us
into your presence, do not cast us out.
