Dust Storm

along the horizon
a dust cloud rises and swoops
a strange bird of prey

Return of Carpe Diem Haiku Kia

Hopefully this is the return of regular postings at Carpe Diem. Playing catch up since I was not aware Kristjaan was posting again.

Carpe Diem Haiku Kai #1857: a meditation.

stormy weather
with the dawn a fallen oak
cry of a new grandchild

Carpe Diem Haiku Kai Weekend Meditation #100: waves of love

sleepless night
dark shadows mock the moon
shivering with cold

suddenly warm arms reach out
waves of love enfolding me

Carpe Diem Haiku Kai #1856: Restarting?

smoldering rubble
all the crazies
spread conspiracies

Harvest

Carpe Diem #1848 Harvest

changing weather
burnished fields of gold
reflect autumn sky

~~~~~~~
morning dew
goldfinch echo autumn’s joy
exploring garden
~~~~~~~

whirr of locust
intensity matching afternoon heat
sip of cool water

Trying to Restart Again

Carpe Diem #1846 Trying to restart again

wet spring
discarding drown plants
setting new seedlings

replacing flowers
by the cold wet stone
spring hatchlings chirp
tears dried, visits lessen
conversation growing thin

Summertime

Carpe Diem #1845 Troiku Challenge: Summertime

at the seashore
wind of summer through my hair
the shortest night

© Chèvrefeuille ummer through my hair

at the seashore
last embers of sunset
dance on the water

wind of summer through my hair
mixture of lotion and brine
engulf the shore

the shortest night
blazing stars give way
to fiery sunrise

Returning to Normal

Carpe Diem #1844 Returning Back To Normal (I Hope)

cautious journey
meeting newest grandson
ten months late

summertime journey
obscure paths explored
still social distancing

early frost
garden flowers decked out
glistening crystals

Blue Moon

Halloween treat
blue moon shining
on ghosts and ghoulies

wind in the trees
shadows dance wildly
under a blue moon

Blue Hunter’s Moon
chill of winter preys
on our hearts
