Psalm 4:4–5

4 Tremble and do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. 5 Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the Lord.

Do not act in hast and anger;
search your heart, calm yourself.
Do not let your mouth lead you to sin.
Close your door and talk to your Lord,
be silent and wait for an answer.
Take a step back, look at the big picture;
look at your own faults and misdeeds,
confess your wrong doings.
Wait upon the Lord be still
and know that he will answer.
Remember you can trust in the Lord.
