In the state parks, I played with my siblings on summer vacations, We had no waterlilies, but plenty of creeks and ponds.. We entered critter races with other children. One year a raccoon ate our grits and the bathrooms were flooded with frogs.

fat tadpole swims
between my fingers

splatting sound
of green tree frogs
in a wet bathhouse

in the shower house
my sister’s screams

Thanks! One frog did actually land on my sister over 40 years ago. This prompt brought back the memory.
