Scattered glass glistens
fragmented reflection of sky

Roses cascade gracefully
through the porch roof
cradling a bird nest

tidy swifts nesting in eves
woodpecker holes in siding

among stinging nettles
chrysalis gently sway
beguiling sanctuary

“Ageku”

one more fragile home
soon to be abandoned
