Day 66 -Three Pines- Haibun Journey View From My Window

My view today is of three spindly pines. They loom against the sky, towering over the neighbor’s house across the road. My only thoughts are of gangly things or things that come in sets of three. I look at the pines again and try to picture a pristine pine forest. The scent of the sap and needles mingling with the rich earthy smells of the forest floor. I envision walking through the woods, the needles crunching softly under foot. The noon sun heating up the air. It’s a nice walk until a soft whining tells me it’s time to leave before the mosquitos get too thick.
