Day 53 Preparation — Haibun Journey View From My Window
As I punch down the bread dough, I can see and hear you outside the window. First you carry items from the house to the garage, then you sweep all the leaves off the back porch. While the bread is rising, I wash the pans and dishes you used to make dinner for me last night. I got home around 9:30 and you had sausage, eggs, and homemade biscuits and gravy waiting. My daughter burst out laughing as we came through the door and she smelled the biscuits and gravy. We had just been listening to a hilarious comedian making fun of this food. So I didn’t mind cleaning up. Peering out the window again, I wave to you and you smile. The back porch is our main entrance and will be use by all the family coming for our holiday dinner. So things on the honey do list are actually getting done.
