Day 16 Grateful: Haibun Journey — View from my Window

The afternoon sky is a slate blue, the last working solar light flickers in the garden. I search the sky for signs of the impending snowstorm which I am in doubt of. Fluffed starlings decorate the naked tree boughs and a crow sits below. Searching and waiting… how much of life do we spend this way. We wait for spring, we wait for birthdays, Christmas’s and holidays; yet each day is it’s own precious gift. The crow makes me laugh, for no reason and I am grateful just to be.
